Economics & Entrepreneurship (bilingual)

4º ESO

This subject is useful to develop an entrepreneurial initiative with confidence in every aspect of your life. We introduce very basic knowledge about economic scarcity, nature, inequality, trade, the environment and production. We practice personal and social skills, emotions, creativity, decision-making and communication, applied to a project using agile methodologies.

TIMING

Every day we write short notes by hand on separate sheets.
Each day we explain one unit with the correlative number.
If you miss a day: you should prepare that unit at home.
We solve a real case in an individual test using these rules.
We work in teams to resolve an entrepreneurial challenge.
Your team gives you a daily score (peer assessment).
If you miss a day: bring a justification and submit new original answers.
In the 3rd term: the team will design an entrepreneurial project.
At the end of the year: the team project will be presented publicly.

SCORE: each task has a mark from 0 to 100 (no decimals)
BLOCKS 1-2-4-5-7: individual TEST on basic economic topics
BLOCKS 3-6-8-9: team CHALLENGE on entrepreneurial skills

TERM GRADE (out of 100)

CALCULATION (Terms 1-2): 40% Test + 40% Test + 20% Chall**
CALCULATION (Term 3): 20% Test + 40% Chall** + 20% Chall**
FAIL: if your calculation is <50p or if you fail any partial task
RE-SIT: repeat only those partial tasks with the worst marks

ANNUAL GRADE (out of 100)

CALCULATION: ⅓ Term-1 + ⅓ Term-2 + ⅓ Term-3
FAIL: if your calculation is <50p or if you fail any single term

REPORT (out of 10)

PASS: mathematical approximation if the calculation is over >50p

Filling the coffer of secrets

< You have received a piece of paper of size A6. >

1. Write in secret—without anyone finding out—some information about yourself that the rest of the group doesn’t know, e.g. a funny anecdote, an embarrassing situation, or some fun habit.
2. Fold the paper in half and put it into the box your teacher has brought so it mixes with the rest.
3. Over the following days we will read the papers at random and try to discover who wrote them.
